Abstract Submission – Guidelines

  • All abstracts must be submitted via the abstract form available on the website.
  • Submitting an abstract does not register you for HAIRCON 2027 unless the payment formalities are completed either immediately or at a later stage, before the last date of abstract submission.
  • The abstracts must contain original content that has not been published or presented at any other national or international conference prior to HAIRCON 2027.
  • As the official language for the conference is English, the abstracts must be submitted and presented in English only.
  • Each abstract should not exceed 350 words and must be typed in the box provided on the online abstract submission page.
  • The abstract should include the following subheadings:
    • a) Aims & Objectives

      b) Materials & Methods

      c) Results

      d) Conclusions

  • Authors may include one table or graph with their abstract. You will find an option to upload a JPEG or PDF file on the submission page. Please note that files larger than 1 MB will not be accepted.
  • Once an abstract is submitted, no revisions or edits will be allowed. Authors have the option to save their abstracts as a draft if they wish to rework on them before submission.
  • When submitting an abstract for review, make sure to click the Submit button only once. If you do not click submit, your abstract will remain in the “Drafts” section of the site and will not be considered for review.
  • Notification regarding acceptance of the abstract, along with presentation guidelines, will be sent to the author’s registered email address.
  • Authors may choose between E-Poster or Oral Presentation formats. However, the Scientific Committee reserves the right to accept, reject, or reassign presentation types for all submitted abstracts.

Categories of Submission

Innovation Paper Criteria

The submissions can be novel techniques, unique approaches in specific subject, innovative use of existing instrument/technology and research which establishes new insight into hair treatment / diagnostics / practice of trichology or hair restoration.

The innovation should be an original invention/discovery.

Abstracts would be shortlisted and chosen for presentation.

It can include:

  • A publication in a peer reviewed journal.
  • An article which has been submitted for publication/approved
  • An unpublished or completed research.

For shortlisted abstracts, a full text article would be necessary for final selection.

If it is a device, a video of how the device works will be requested.

It should be accompanied by a disclaimer that it is an original invention of the author/authors.

The scientific jury at HAIRCON 2027 will review the papers, out of which the best paper will be awarded the Best Innovation Award.

Assessment:

A jury will be constituted who will assess the innovation with respect to:

  • Originality and scientific logic
  • Materials and methods
  • Reliability of results
  • Utility (relevance)

Award Paper Criteria

For oral presentation award papers, it should be an original study. Case reports/short studies won’t be accepted for award category assessment.

A jury will be constituted for each category of paper, who will assess with respect to the following fields:

  • Originality of the idea
  • Methodology
  • Analysis of results
  • Utility (Relevance)
  • Thoroughness of discussion
  • Quality of writing style in terms of accuracy, clarity, readability, and organization of the study
  • Quality of research/study:
    • Critical analysis of current literature
    • Theories and findings
    • Consistency and coherency of the study
  • Positioning:
    • Clear positioning of paper in existing national & international literature with conclusion(s) that are convincing and of significant potential

The scientific jury will be involved in awarding the best paper.

E-Poster Award

The scientific jury will select the top ten E-posters, out of which the best poster will be awarded a prize by the jury.

The remaining entries can display their E-posters at HAIRCON 2027.

Guidelines for E-Poster Presentation

  • As an E-Poster presenter, you are asked to prepare a single Microsoft PowerPoint slide and save it as a PDF. This will be displayed on a wide-screen monitor between 40–42 inches.
  • The presentation should be in landscape orientation with a screen ratio of 16:9.
  • As the poster is treated as a single presentation, you should not include additional slides — only one. The file size should not exceed 15 MB.
  • Avoid overlapping or animated objects, and do not use serial animations. Only the final view of your slide will be visible, as all uploaded presentations will be converted and published in PDF format.
  • All graphs and tables must be embedded in your file and include titles.
  • Avoid using animated GIFs, and ensure you respect copyright and personal anonymity when including images or photos.
  • Do not insert or embed any videos in your presentation.
  • Do not include hyperlinks, as there will be no internet access on the E-Poster screens.
  • The abstract guidelines for the E-Poster will be the same as those for oral presentations.
  • Posters should be submitted directly to the Scientific Committee.
  • Use Times New Roman or Arial as the font type.
  • The font size should be 14 pt or larger.
  • You are welcome to use images and tables in your presentation.
  • Please do not include audio in your presentation.

Free Paper Presentation

The Free Paper Presentation category at HAIRCON 2027 is open to all delegates who wish to share their ideas, clinical experiences, observations, or perspectives related to hair restoration, trichology, and allied practices. This platform encourages concise and focused knowledge sharing, allowing participants to present relevant concepts and practice-based insights to a wider scientific audience.

Each selected presenter will be given up to 5 minutes to present their paper. Topics may include clinical experiences, innovative thoughts, emerging concepts, observational findings, or practical approaches relevant to daily clinical practice. This category is designed to promote open scientific dialogue and participation across all levels of experience.

Interested participants are required to share their topic preferences with the Scientific Committee. Submissions will be screened and shortlisted, and the final selection for presentation will be made by the Scientific Committee of HAIRCON 2027.
